Companionship & Socialization
Volunteers play an essential role in enriching the lives of our residents through meaningful companionship and social engagement. Whether you're interested in spending time with residents one-on-one, participating in group activities, or helping organize special events, there are many ways to make a difference.
Our volunteers help bring joy to residents by:
- Engaging in conversation and shared interests
- Participating in recreational activities and games
- Assisting with arts and crafts programs
- Helping plan and execute seasonal celebrations
Guidelines for Group Visits
Youth Groups, Christmas Carolers, and other community visitors
We warmly welcome group visits from schools, youth organizations, religious groups, and community ensembles. To ensure a smooth experience for both visitors and residents, please follow these guidelines:
Schedule in Advance
Contact our volunteer coordinator at least two weeks before your planned visit to arrange dates and times that work with resident schedules.
Group Size
We recommend keeping group visits between 8-15 people to ensure adequate space and attention for all residents.
Infection Control
All visitors should follow current health guidelines, including hand hygiene and any vaccination requirements we may have in place.
Appropriate Attire
Please dress comfortably and appropriately—avoid strong perfumes or colognes that might affect sensitive residents.
Supervision
Groups with children must include at least one adult supervisor for every 10-12 youth present.
Activities
We encourage bringing simple, engaging activities (books, games, music) but please check with us beforehand to ensure they align with resident interests and abilities.
Special Events
For holiday carolers or seasonal performers, we'll coordinate timing around our scheduled events and any special programming.
